Ellis Island Tour Question

Has anyone taken this tour? I know the ferry is not included in the price of the tour which is fine but do I also need to book the ferry or is our place on the ferry reserved %26amp; we just pay when we get there??

Tks in advance

Ellis Island Tour Question

The tour on Ellis Island is free unless you want to rent the audio tour for an additional $6. You need to pay for the ferry which goes to both the Statue of Liberty and to Ellis Island for the same price. It is better to buy the ferry tickets in advance so that you don%26#39;t have to wait on the ticket purchase line.

Ellis Island Tour Question

Tks, we had been looking at a tour on www.ellisislandtours.com which is $20. Are there free tours we can join in on when we get to Ellis Island? We always prefer a tour guide in places like this - we don%26#39;t mind paying but obviously don%26#39;t want to waste our money if free tours are available

Park Rangers lead a varity of tours and talks through out the day.

they are free. The basic guided tour runs about 45 minutes and runs every day. Special interest tours run on a less dependeable time table.

Check out the site

ellisislandtours.com

I have taken it and it is fantastic, covering Ellis Island as well as all sorts of really interesting sites in and around lower Manhattan, including the Irish Famine Memorial which is an incredible site! and a great ride on the NY/NJ water taxi. It%26#39;s led by a licensed tour guide who is a former Ellis Island Park Ranger

When are you getting here? Have a great trip. Ta. MMM!

MMM510 - we arrive 22nd July %26amp; were looking at the tour for wednesday 26th. It gives start time of the tour as 8.45 am. Does that mean we have to be on Ellis Island for that time or do we meet a ferry at that time? Do we use the normal SOL ferry or is it a separate one for this tour??

I%26#39;ve had a look at the ellis island website %26amp; can%26#39;t find any info on their free tours which snowman %26amp; NYC10025 mentioned. Can anyone help me with this??

Tks

Shelly, all those questions are answered when you go to the Zerve site, but I%26#39;m pretty sure you don%26#39;t meet on Ellis Island. Since the tour I went on was as part of a group, we met at a location convenient to us and then took public transportation down to the World Financial Buildings and really began our tour there ... check out the review I wrote on taking this tour on the 18th of June - it was really wonderful and the Irish Hunger Memorial should not be missed! I%26#39;ll see if I can%26#39;t get some more info on the non-group tours and post it later. Ta for now. MMM!
