A girlfriend and I are are planning a w/end trip to celebrate her 4oth b%26#39;day. We would like to visit the Empire State, Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero and in particular any Beatles / John Lennon sights as she is a massive fan. Any suggestions as to hotel location for such a visit? We %26#39;re looking at something along the Days Inn type place but don%26#39;t want to stay in a fleapit! Also , any suggestions as to itinerary would be very welcome.

The Hit Factory (Now closed, I believe it is a Baldwin piano dealership. The bulding will soon be converted to condos. Maybe the GF can buy an apartment?)

I recently heard that Cafe La Fortuna has been bought. While it%26#39;s still got another year or two on its present lease, its future looks doubtful. Sadly, the owners can no longer afford Upper West Side rents.
