Our son is graduating from NYPD Academy 6/26. We are looking for a restaurant nearby for about a dozen people. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Mike

A couple i have in mind are Mustang Harry%26#39;s and Mustang Sally%26#39;s on 7th ave and 29th/30th street (2 different restaurants, both have bars up front with restaurant tables in back).

Another place i like is Stout, but it gets very loud and crowded towards the evening, also don%26#39;t let them put you in the basement where the bands play or you will be deafened. Stout is on 32nd street between 6th and 7th aves:

Just a few blocks away is Keen%26#39;s Steakhouse. Very good food and a real New York ambiance,

Mongcop, those restaurants i just mentioned are perhaps not what you are looking for in a celebratory graduation meal, i guess you would be looking for something much nicer, i didn%26#39;t think about that until i saw voy%26#39;s recommendation re Keens.

Korean BBQ is good for groups so perhaps K-town.

It really depends on what sort of place/food/budget you want. Nick %26amp; Stef%26#39;s is also steak and inside Penn Plaza. Not as good as Keen%26#39;s. (Keen%26#39;s also has some WONDERFUL private rooms that would be great for a party of 12 if you want to be alone,

If you want something more casual, there%26#39;s a Dempsey%26#39;s pub at 34th %26amp; Fifth. Il Campanello on 31 st b/w 6th %26amp; 7th is also very nice.

Thank you for all your suggestions. We decided to go with Mustang Harry%26#39;s. It was only 2 blocks from the Garden and we wanted an assortment of lunch choices rather than a heavy meal. We arrived earlier than our reservation time, but were seated right away. We had a table upstairs, away from another large table. It was almost like a private room. There was a variety of choices on the menu, and everyone was pleased. It was very enjoyable. Thanks again! Mike
