I am going to New York for the first time in September and I want to stay as central as possible. I have been told there is a YMCA in downtown NY, please can someone tell me the address of this one?
Also are you able to get a twin room?

The best hosel is the city is not as central, called Hostelling International (HI). Look at reviews on hostelz.com They do have twin rooms but they get booked quickly.
Th HI hostel mentioned in the previous note is at 103rd St. and Amsterdam Ave. It is a block from the subway and it takes about 15 minutes to get to midtown (42nd. St. )
