Internet cafes/free wi-fi

I don%26#39;t think the hotel we are staying at (Murray Hill East Suites) has free wireless, so I%26#39;m wondering if it%26#39;s worth taking the laptop along. I need to check my e-mail every day.

Are Internet cafes easy to find in the area (39th %26amp; Lexington), or alternately does anyone have recommendations for ';hot spots'; nearby?

All of our Starbucks are Hot Spots and they is more or less one on every corner.

Just like in Vancouver - we even have 2 Starbucks at the same intersection, kitty-corner to each other!

Sounds good. I hope they%26#39;re active by August 17th, which is when we will be there.

There is an Internet cafe on Park avenue south between 29th and 30th streets. It is, if I recall, 2,50$ for 15 minutes.

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago and was kindly told of the EasyNet internet cafe at 234 West 42nd St bet 7th and 8th Aves. It is apparantly the largest with over 600 terminals. the website is

You have to beware of pickpockets in the big Internet cafes. They are singling out tourists with their backpacks who by mistake put them beside their chair or keep it on their backs and they can unzip the bag easily.
