Anyone know anything about montauk?

I want to go there for the day tomorrow. I%26#39;m gonna take the LIRR but I was wondering - what beach should I go to? Can you walk from the train or should I cab it? Ideally, I%26#39;m looking for a beach that is close to some cute restaurants or shops
