Does Florent have a TV?

I%26#39;m Chelsea-centric, so here are my suggestions further uptown:

La Singe Vert on 7th 19th-20th definitely having something. Also, judging from the tiny women dancing on the bar last Saturday, Sensa on 6th at 21st popular with the French...

I%26#39;d check with Provence and the places in Soho that have the huge Bastille Day celebrations if you want to be further downtown

My father flew down to St Barth this morning to be with his French cronies!

Felix restaurant on West Broadway in SoHo.

Here%26#39;s article from today%26#39;s Daily News . . .

Bordeaux and Beaujolais flowed freely yesterday as soccer fans filled the streets of New York with chants of ';Allez Les Bleus!'; after France booted its way into the World Cup finals.

At the Robin Des Bois restaurant on Smith St. in Brooklyn, a throng of French expats burst into a wild celebration as their countrymen sent Portugal packing with a 1-0 triumph.

';I%26#39;m extremely excited,'; said ex-Parisian Amelie Chabann, 31, of Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. ';It%26#39;s crazy to be in the finals.';

Xavier Thibaud of Brooklyn cried tears of joy as French team captain Zinedine Zidane scored a goal with a penalty kick in the 33rd minute of the match.

';I%26#39;m from the same city as Zidane,'; Thibaud proudly proclaimed.

France, which won the World Cup title in 1998, plays Italy in Sunday%26#39;s championship match in Berlin. The Italians have won three World Cups, the last one coming in 1982.

';It%26#39;s like heaven,'; said Fabrice Tenot, 32, of Manhattan, who was showered with champagne at the Felix restaurant on West Broadway in SoHo.

';In school, when you play [soccer] with your friends, it%26#39;s always France vs. Italy,'; Tenot said. ';Now it%26#39;s really happening. It%26#39;s like a dream.';

';It%26#39;s the best of the best. We%26#39;re definitely going to beat Italy,'; said Alain Haueur, 42, of Manhattan, as revelers broke out in spontaneous singing of the French national anthem, ';La Marseillaise.';

But at the O Lavrador restaurant in Jamaica, Queens, Portugal fans were left crying in their plates of chorizo.

';I never thought we would lose,'; said Frank Mortagua, 41, of Queens. ';I bought a cake from a bakery with %26#39;Viva Portugal%26#39; written on it because we were going to celebrate.';

Some griped the game had to be decided on a penalty kick.

';I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s fair for a game to be decided on penalties. I thought I was going to be partying tonight,'; said Jason Almeida, 26, of Queens. ';Not anymore.';

Interesting article LTT....especially the last comment about games being decided on penalties. Bet they weren%26#39;t thinking that last Saturday!

thanks all!

I know a couple of french bistros who will probably have a television on Sunday. I think the following bistros are owned by French people. There%26#39;s chez Jules on St-Mark%26#39;s place in the east village. There%26#39;s L%26#39;Express on Park avenue south. On Madison near 29th street (I%26#39;m going by memory so I%26#39;m not too sure), there%26#39;s a restaurant called Meli-melo. Maybe those places will be filled by French people

i was wondering if l%26#39;express has a tv! but i don%26#39;t ever recall one in there unless they got one for the game. oh well, i guess i can call and ask. that would be a fun spot.

thanks!

L%26#39;Express does not regularly have a TV.

Maybe they%26#39;ll get one for the game.
